Tails of the Unexpected

For the second year in a row, a Herefordshire farmer has ordered MIDI BIOClips – this time a thousand of them !  He only tail-docks his new born lambs, but because his Suffolk Cross lambs can have tails that are beyond the capacity of MINI Clips and he wants to keep things simple and only orders one size. This is the difference between MIDI and MINI..

His unexpected tale involves Ravens who are attracted to his lambs tails in particular. They know that when they peck tails that are rung, they can draw blood. On the other hand, Clips seal off the blood supply and the Ravens walk away. They learn quickly that there is nothing to be gained in pecking clipped tails. The farmer tells us that Clips also prevent infection.
