Andrew Glenn was about to be filmed by the This Farming Life crew for next year’s series, when he ordered ClipFitter for the first time! So, under some pressure from the film crew, having to learn a new procedure and without his regular helper and partner Gayle Scougall, because she was pregnant, Andrew jumped in the freezing loch and swam successfully to shore ! Thankfully Andrew was sensible enough to fit clips on several lambs before an intensive 3 hours of filming, so that he appeared expert on camera ! This is how he summarised the results – for more detail watch TFL in January 2025 !
Hi Brian,I thought I’d give my final round up of the year, as a bit of feedback. Out of 500 lambs marked 5 ended up not working so 1%, but truthfully I think that could probably be put down to user error or perhaps using the wrong size clip.
Next year I think I would buy 1 bag of the large plastic ones as well as the biodegradable just as they do a larger weight, then when we get the freakishly large ones in just use a large plastic clip to be sure. (editor’s note – we will be trialling a new BIOnic MaxiClip next season which should perform as well as the current plastic Maxi – so Andrew won’t have to use plastic at all if all goes well next year)
As far as the product goes I cant fault it, no noticeable pain, doesn’t check growth, clean tidy wound when they drop off. There was no noticeable issues with width rubbing legs which I heard some people worry about. Easy to use once you get the hang of it.
I’ve convinced a handful of people to use it next year and if you want me to put do some social media posts when the this farming life comes out just let me know.
Kind regards,
Andrew Glenn Kintyre Glamping Pods
